The Freezer is a social hostel that shares its premises with a highly rated professional theatre, international artists residency and culture centre. Our hometown is Rif, one of the smallest fishing villages in Iceland, conveniently parked on the north side Snæfellsnes peninsula, right opposite the stunning Snæfellsjökull Glacier.

Formerly the property housed a traditional Icelandic fish factory but after a massive makeover, lead by local theatre-maker and owner Kári Viðarsson, The Freezer is now fit and ready to welcome culture-thirsty travellers during their exploration of west Iceland and the magnificent Snæfellsjökull glacier national park.
